Health and Wellness Advocacy CV
Barry’s Life Mission is to advocate for underserved communities with health disparities. His most recent project is the creation of a mobile app called “Healthy On The Move”. This mobile app is a resource for people with health conditions, providing surveys, assessment forms, linkage to resources, advocate mentorship, and a standard of care accountability support networks, and HIPAA-compliant Tele-mental/Telehealth assessments. The initial health disparities and target communities for the app are PLWH and Substance Use Recovery.
Barry believes in mental health through talk therapy, advocacy through technology and human rights advancement through unity. His experiences led to his focus on: substance abuse treatment; mental health treatment; African American sero-discordant couples (SDC); HIV50+; Seniors, High Risk Heterosexuals (HRH) and Black & Brown PLWH.
